UniStem Day 2020 – the event in Paris
On March 6th, volunteers of the Institut Pasteur have met with high school students of science and technology during UniStemDay 2020 worldwide event.
For the third French edition, at the Institut Pasteur, two Investissement d’Avenir (PIA) Projects, Labex Revive and the Institut Convergence Inception have joined efforts to organize a scientific symposium with and for high school students, in order to promote biology associated with stem cells and bioinformatics.
Through conferences, posters and meetings with more than 130 students (participating high schools: Notre Dame “les oiseaux” (78), Duruy (75) and Lavoisier (75)), researchers and project managers have shared their experiences in research and life inside and outside the laboratory, while raising awareness among high school students. Students have also presented works to be evaluated by a committee and 2 presentations and 2 posters have been awarded.
The commitment of the teachers, the inspiration and creativity of the students, as well as the active and passionate participation of the speakers, made this day a success contributing to the influence of the PIA and the Pasteur Institute.
We’d like to thank everyone involved, including teams from Revive, Inception, the Bioinformatics Hub, CERIS and partners SupBiotech and I-Stem.
The event has been organized by Vania Rosas (project officer at LabEx Revive) and Marina Caillet (project officer at Inception)
