2021 UniStem Day will be held internationally on Friday, March 5th, 2021.

Every year, academic and research institutions partner and gather for the UniStem Day collective event to talk about science and stem cells, together with high school students.

UniStem Day is a one-day meeting organized for high school students since 2009. This event, solely dedicated to the dissemination and outreach of stem cell science and research, provides an opportunity to foster learning, discovery and debate on the themes of knowledge and innovation starting from stem cell research. The event showcases cutting edge research, paints a picture of the daily work of a scientist, and explores the mechanisms behind scientific breakthroughs, including the cultural expectations. By offering lessons, debates, visits to laboratories and recreational moments, the students engage with the concepts and methodologies involved in stem cell research. Furthermore, they will gain an appreciation for science and how it can be fun and build personal character and relationships based on evidence, perseverance and integrity.

For the 13th time

UNISTEM DAY 2021 will bring together – online and in person where possible – Universities and High Schools from all over the world.

INFORMATION FOR ENTITIES PARTICIPATING IN 2021

This year, due to the pandemic crisis, the event can be organized both online or in person, if conditions and local authorities allow that. UniStem, EuroStemCell and GSCN Teams will partner to support your initiative with logos and advice. They all have websites about UniStem Day and would like to post your programs in order to promote the networking, collaborative and international dimension of UniStem Day.

Please confirm that your institution is willing to organize a UniStem Day in 2021 and send your final UniStem Day program to unistem@unimi.it and Stefanie.Mahler@mdc-berlin.de. They will be posted online in a dedicated page on the organizers’ websites.

Poster and Program design: Unlike in previous years, all Entities participating should design their own program and poster design. For this purpose, the 2021 UniStem Day logo, kindly designed by German Stem Cell Network (GSCN), is available for download and freely usable on all of your event materials. While drafting your materials, it would be much appreciated if you could include the suggested text and logos (see below) in order to put your material in context with the UniStem Day initiative.

While drafting your materials, it would be much appreciated if you could include the following text and logos:
