NSAS: Applications open for 2017 Advanced Courses

Neuroscience School of Advanced Studies

CertosaThe Neuroscience School of Advanced Studies (NSAS) has published the 2017 program of its advanced Courses & Workshops.

Inside the lecture rooms and around the fascinating atmosphere of the ancient Certosa di Pontignano, the world’s leading investigators will discuss scientific challenges with a small, highly selected number of participants in a unique setting, nestled within the most idyllic landscapes of Tuscany, in the outskirts of Siena.

The Advanced Courses and the Workshops at the NSAS are carefully designed and orchestrated to maximize the potential for interaction between the faculty and participants in a very friendly and unintimidating manner.

For one intense week, attendees will work alongside faculty that are undisputed leaders in their own field. Learning from the leaders, they will discard outdated notions, gain an appreciation for the latest ideas, and develop insights that will create fresh perspectives in their own field of research or clinical activity.

The Advanced Courses and Workshops are not a summer school suited only for younger scholars. Indeed, a significant proportion of seasoned investigators is regularly present among the attendees, often senior faculty at their own institutions. The balanced audience greatly contributes to the development of intense cross-disciplinary debates among faculty and participants that typically address the most advanced and emerging areas of each topic.

The selected venues will also provide the perfect setting to a relaxed yet intense learning atmosphere, with the stunning backdrop of the Tuscan landscapes.

Elena Cattaneo will coordinate the Advanced Course Neural Stem Cells: Development and Brain Repair, which will be held in Cortona, May 20-27, 2017.

Participants are selected on merit only, with attendance limited to a maximum of 50. For application procedure, click here.
